This webinar with Dr Jennifer Glenn and Dr Irene Anderson provides practical ways that secondary school teachers can use effective literacy approaches in their classroom teaching and learning programmes. It also explores how whole-school approaches to literacy have been effective in deepening teacher understanding and growing school-wide practices.
Jennifer has extensive and recent classroom experience of leading a range of literacy initiatives both at Thames High School and in a Community of Learning, and Irene is an education consultant with Evaluation Associates who has worked with many schools to build literacy practices within and across learning areas. They have recently published Secondary Literacy: A Handbook for Teachers (available at simplylitnz.co.nz).
