Dr Naomi Baron is a professor of linguistics at American University in Washington DC and a former Guggenheim and Fulbright Fellow who has been researching the impact of digital technologies on the ways we read, write, speak, and think for more than 30 years. She has published ten books including How We Read Now: Strategic Choices for Print, Screen, and Audio (2025) and Who Wrote This? How AI and the Lure of Efficiency Threaten Human Writing (2023).
