Safer screen use webinar

Safer screen use in educational settings

The use of screen-based digital technologies (such as computers and digital devices) is increasing for children and young people worldwide. Digital technologies offer educational and social benefits, but can also present a risk of harm to children and young people.

This is particularly important in New Zealand, where rates of screen use among children and young people are some of the highest in the world. In this webinar, Julie Cullen of Sensible Screen Use shares insights from a 2025 review which examined the impacts of digital technologies on the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents. She also offers pragmatic recommendations for the use of digital technologies in schools, kura kaupapa, and early childhood education.
