Literacy practices, language, and friendship in early childhood education

Learning to communicate effectively is highly important for supporting children’s social and emotional wellbeing. In this webinar, Dr Rebecca Hopkins from Auckland University of Technology supports teachers to broaden both their conceptualisation of literacy within early childhood educational settings, and their intentional practices to build children’s literacy skills and understandings.

This webinar explores ways that literacy practices might support friendships and social skills, as well as emphasising the importance of rich language and conversational practices and the enjoyment of books and storytelling.
