The Possible Me project focused on the development of an evidence base of experiences which are effective for inspiring children’s career aspirations and their purpose for learning.
The research, conducted in early childhood settings in Australia, explored children’s perceptions of workplaces and their potential role in the world of work in early childhood, and aimed to support emergent aspirations and expectations of participation in learning that leads to rewarding engagement in the world of work. This webinar explores some of the key findings from this research.
Dr Claire McLachlan is the Pro Vice Chancellor, Education at Te Whare Wānanga o Waikato | The University of Waikato. She was previously the Executive Dean, Institute of Education, Arts and Community at Federation University in Victoria, Australia. Her primary field of research is early childhood education, and her platform of research focuses on literacy, physical activity, curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and evaluation. She was also a member of the writing team for the revision of Te Whāriki.
Dr Anna Fletcher is the inaugural Associate Dean Industry Cooperation, IEAC at Federation University. In this role, she leads the Institute’s collaboration with industry, the community, business, and government to establish genuine partnerships built on shared goals in the form of research linkages, industry linkages, short courses and exchange projects that deliver genuine impact, improvement and turnaround.
Dr Vicki Hargraves is a teacher, mother, writer, and researcher. Her PhD used philosophy to explore creative approaches to understanding early childhood education. She is inspired by the wealth of educational research that is available and is passionate about making this available and useful for teachers.
