Using her learning from a Margaret May Blackwell travel fellowship, Jo likens her transborder experiences to those that a child may experience when ‘crossing the border’ from early childhood to school. In this session, Jo will share some of her learning about supporting successful transitions, and both Jo and Marie will also share some maths activities that can be useful in the classroom to help learners with early concepts of maths in ways that bridge the gap between play-based approaches in ECE and the significantly more structured approach of the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum.
