Webinar with Dr Nina Hood and Dr Stephanie MacMahon
This webinar will provide an introduction to the science of learning, exploring what is meant by the term, the research base it draws on, and its implications for curriculum and pedagogy in school. Topics covered will include: the factors that influence learning, the cognitive processes involved in learning both content and skills, and how learning changes and progresses as we build our knowledge and understanding of a topic.
Nina and Stephanie will also explore what the science of learning research suggests about the efficacy and impact of different pedagogical practices and how and when they should be employed in teaching. Dr Nina Hood is the founder of The Education Hub and regularly gives talks and presentations on the implications of the science of learning. Dr Stephanie MacMahon is Lecturer in the Science of Learning and in Arts Education at the University of Queensland, Australia. Stephanie is also is also the Program Director of the UQ Learning Lab: a group of multi-disciplinary researchers, educators, and industry partners who collaborate to transform learning, teaching and training in diverse school and post-school contexts through the science of learning.
