Share practices for parent partnership in your setting. How well do these work? What kinds of parent partnership do they enable?
We value relationships with our parents and whanau. We use different ways to communicate with the parents, face to face during drop off and pick up, Storypark, emails and notices. During the red traffic setting, it was really difficult to communicate with the parents. They couldn’t come inside the classroom. We are really looking forward to engage with the parents now that we are in the orange setting. We also involve parents in goal settings for their get. The parents get to tell us their aspirations for their child and we use this information in our curriculum development and planning.
I think these practices work as it helps to build partnership with the parents. We listen to the parents and value those relationships.
